ever said a famous philosopher "We are condemned to be free." That philosopher mentioned is Sartre, who holds one of the most important theories of existentialism. This philosopher also addresses the concept of freedom. This concept has been tried to define throughout history. People are constantly questioning whether or not we are free and if we are, how far that freedom.

Personally I agree with Sartre in several respects: we are condemned to be free and are responsible for our own freedom. The philosopher believes that freedom is related to the lack of nature. He says that getting an essence, restricts or limits the self. He also says that it is our freedom that we choose, not us to it. However, I believe that every human being has the choice to be free, and it is your responsibility to be recognized as such. Also that our freedom allows us to precisely establish our own human essence and our own limitations.

Freedom is a concept I've been thinking due to the insecurity that is taking place today in Mexico. Are we free? It seems not. Lately it seems that freedom is not the function of all because many people have become prey to their homes and their fears because of the danger that haunts the streets. On the other hand, criminals, killers and drug traffickers appear to be completely free of laws, authority, ethics. In Mexico, being free has a price higher than in many countries.

Failing to be responsible about their own freedom and do not set our own limitations is what leads to this imbalance. Establishing ourselves within certain limits does not mean losing our freedom, that is the point where I differ with Sartre. As free and responsible human beings we have an obligation to recognize our own human essence, and in so doing, our limitations.
